so on thursday night, naomika and aarnav called me up to say that one of their singers quit, so i could replace her. i was so excited like omg. anyway this has been one of the single best experiences in my life. with the seniors and in the house i think i finally found a home in school with these people. anyway this is how it all played out.

friday

naomika came and got me from my class in physics for the first sound check and we sounded like absolute shit. i mean it was my first time meeting everyone but it did sound like awful. anyway nikita who was basically the only one with musical knowledge started killing ahaana and shivangini cause they messed up for a while. anyway aaditya literally lost hope after that rehearsal and went into complete depression after. after school ended, i quickly grabbed my phone and went to the gate. met the rest of the band stand guys as well as the people from other houses band stands. anyway i went with rohain, aaditya and krishnav to the jampad. we reached there a bit before everyone and once everyone had reached there we started warming up and stuff. first we did some “trust” exercises and some other random things. we had to do 100 jumping jacks 25 in each direction and then vidur and aarnav had a push up competition which was bloody hilarious. we also had to scream to build energy and shit. which was also really funny. we did a quick run through of the songs and tried out a bunch of different ones to see which ones fit the theme best. anyway we changed our main song three days before the event but it actually ended up being amazing like now we actually have a shot at winning.

we sung it and shivangini and i had no chemistry so we had to “bond” lol and vidur told us to bond over how bad thor was and then he showed us a shirtless picture of chris hemsworth and told us to bond over that and it was really funny. aarnav was just there and everyone was just making fun of him it was really really funny. asis (nehmat’s sister) who was visiting from college also came to just see us practising for a bit.

then aarnav had to do push-ups with nikita sitting ontop of him and then nikita and aarnav had a sit up competition. vidur showed us a video of him waxing a bit of his leg cause he lost in monopoly which was hilarious. then we also watched a video of himanshu sir dancing which was really funny. again i really felt like i belonged there and i fit in with them., it was amazing.

saturday

i reached a bit early on saturday and i sent a msg on the group and shivangini was there too and we had to “bond” according to aarnav. it was so funny. anyway we kind of bonded and then vidur came too and we talked about how messed up our batch is lol. and i got some inside info. like inside inside info and shiv mohan came as well in a bit. ‘

at rivan nath’s party ap parents ppl were drinking and his dad organised it and then the police showed up right after shiv left. then at vidur’s batch’s conti, the person organising it had through of no food well cause she was dumb and no water and she just bought a bunch of drinks and a bunch of police guys showed up and at the end of the night people were eating cold pizza with 10 drunk policemen., the people had no money so they had to bribe the police with drinks hahah. ahaana came a bit late for practice so i had to sing her parts while she was gone. then we all got some maggi for lunch and it was raining. i had to leave early cause i had my kathak exam. i was in the car and everyone wished me good luck and then vidur asked me to msg when i reached and again i felt like i belonged and fit in and omg it was amazing. they made this really funny video once i left but we sounded absolutely amazing.

sunday

today was our last practice so i was like really sad cause id miss everyone a lot after. today’s the first day that naomika was actually coming so.. she hasn’t actually seen us perform before. anyway we got some more hot hot tea from ahaana’s batch like boiling hot. we did a quick run through and decided that we’d wax our legs if we won hahaha. we ordered lunch after our quick run through and krishnav deleted everyone’s ordered to order icecream which was funny. we ordered really really really good burgers, we practiced alot and we sounded so good like specially when all the instruments join in together u can actually feel it in ur veins. after lunch naomika and aarnav went out to get some glow in the dark paint and shit they were like super enthu, it was their first captain run. vidur’s “inside voice mic” cause he refused to talk without a mic from that point. aarnav got all the singers green tea with honey and then he got a huge scolding from ahaana about it lol. and then vidur decided to add aarnav’s talents in his speech, his professional listening to music on earphones talent. we had so much fun i dont even know what to write. shiv had a slight freak out and then vidur made him feel better again which was good.

then vidur told aarnav to choose the next vice from our batch between rohain, me and shiv. and then we did a few run throughs with the practice of both the songs and then the seniors all gave emotional speeches which was really funny again. but i think all of us genuinely had the best time just practising and winning would just be amazing but even just the practices made everyone so happy. everyone had a part to play, everyone fit in. it was amazing. the actual band stand is tmrw which im super excited scared about. i hope it goes amazing.

monday

umm so vidur called us to the audi at like 11ish and then we all had our sound checks and then we all just looked at each other how good the other houses were. nitika, vidur, shivanginiiii , ahaana and i went to the stairs to practice the duet cause it sounded pretty shit when we did the sound check. shiv and i just went and put paint on everyone every colour and then we had our group huddle and screamed go srishti when sagar was performing cause we’re petty. anyway after we performed shiv and i put stickers on his glasses and them EVERYWHERE. yes we kind of got away with it but it was a lot of fun.

we got in third place but im pretty sure that was least important to all of us. but we were all so so good and we all gave it our all and we had so much fun. the vibe on the stage was actually phenomenal. idk what im going to do without these people and im going to miss everyone and the practices so much. even though i literally was there for 3 practices and 3 days, it has been the best experience of my life and im going to remember it forever. i know everyone felt the same way and i hope all of us dont become strangers after this again, cause we’ve all built such a strong connection and have bonded and it would really break me if that happened. is it weird that i already miss everyone? like what i felt there again was like home. but this is one i know i can never have again which is kind of sad, cause everyone will graduate and shit. but i hope somehow we get another chance to do another performance with the same people. i really hate it when things end. again they gaev me hope and made me feel like i belonged and im going to remember all this forever. its crazy to think that one day we’ll be them and we’ll have to make such an experience for them. i honestly cant wait. but i also am not ready to let everyone go yet.
